CDM (Construction, Design and Management) Regulations 2015 are required to be implemented to plan, design and manage the risks involved in the construction and use of buildings.
All parties involved, from the owner to the contractors on the project must do their part to ensure that these regulations are met. Failure to comply can make you liable for all construction site safety and consequences that arise from any breaches of legislation. If a breach is uncovered, the construction can be suspended by the local authority or HSE. Where serious breaches are discovered, the project risks being shut down completely with the possibility of fines or prosecution.
HOW WE CAN HELP
In the first instance, there must be a dedicated CDM principal designer or contractor whose job it is to oversee the project, discharging any legal regulations relevant to health and safety in construction. This is where we come in. At B3 Construction Consultancy, we are able to act on behalf of our clients and guide you through the project process. It also saves any issues that can occur when employing a contractor as the Principal CDM Designer which could lead to issues further down the line.
